...Not so much. Sorry film fans. For those of you who have been reading the blog (all 2 of you; Hey Mom!), I apologize. I'm going to have to trim down the features; I just don't have the time.
I'll still occasionally post movie events of interest to the queer community or that I deem cool.
I'm also cutting the twitter account in the next few days.
Does this mean the end of Out @ The Movies? Heck, no! It's just going to allow me to focus more energy on the core points.
If you do want to find movies in Halifax that are a bit off the beaten track, I recommend the following:
- http://www.empiretheatres.com; as the only movie chain in Atlantic Canada, they are the biggest game in town. They do lots of special features such as the opera or Empire Fan Favourites.
- http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=30134442529; Empire Fan Favourites - Park Lane. Not always as up-to-date as I might like it to be but lots of great late-night classic features.
- http://thecoast.ca; their Events section is great! If you're having an event, get it submitted.
- http://meganleslie.ndp.ca/halifax-events; Megan Leslie's site has a great calendar of events in Halifax. Lots of great activities here.
- http://halifax.kijiji.ca; a free listing service; not commonly used.
- Cultural Product (facebook); organizes lots of one-time indie screenings.
- Cinema Politica - Halifax (facebook); like a message with your movie?
- http://www.atlanticfilm.com/aff; the Atlantic Film Festival also organize special events throughout the year.
That's about it. If I've learned anything over the last few months of trying to find movies it's that I always miss something. So keep your eyes open!
Kirk
